Three windows require urgent attention due to rot.

On the West facing aspect of the house there is an extension. The windows are in poor repair, with evidence of decay to both the sashes and the surrounding boxes. They have been assessed by a competent Joiner who have indicated that they require the proposed works.

Listed building consent had been sought and granted previously for the sash windows on the Eastern and southern aspect of the property, and these works have been carried out.

On this application, the proposed works involve identical timber framed windows matching the original style.

1. Refurbishment to box frames including removal of existing paint and treatment of any minor rotten timber; removal and re-hanging of top and bottom sash casements; installation of new parting and staff bead incorporating a full draft proofing system

2. Supply and fit three new U.S. Redwood sash casements with period decorative horns. Internal face of frame is scribed with a period Ovalo moulding. Glazed with 16mm sealed units with addition of 6/6 pane astragal glazing bars to top and bottom sash casements

3. Addition of Pilkington Low E glass and Argon gas filled sealed units.
