The Parish Council have teamed up again with Finding Fitness to provide two weeks of children's activities for free this summer at Waltham Village Hall. Dates are 18th - 22nd July and 15th - 19th August for children aged 5 to 13.

OPEN TO ALL PARISHIONERS IN WALTHAM AND THORPE ARNOLD

There are two new defibrillators in the Parish - one on Seabrook Avenue and one outside Thorpe Arnold Village Hall.

There will be a defibrillator awareness session held at Thorpe Arnold Village Hall on Wednesday 27th April at 6.30pm. There is a maximum of 50 places available - please register your intent to attend with the clerk.

CLOSURE OF HIGH STREET WALTHAM FOR UP TO 2 DAYS

Standard highways no-entry sign

The High Street, Waltham will be closed for up to 2 days starting on Thursday 17th March so that Burmor Construction can carry out Carriageway resurfacing.

Diversions are via Stonesby, Saltby, Croxton Kerrial, Freeby and Garthorpe.

New Defibrillator on Seabrook Avenue, Waltham

The defibrillator unit housed in a bright yellow circular cabinet and mounted on posts just off Seabrook Avenue in Waltham

Due to the expansion of Waltham, the Parish Council decided to install a second defibrillator unit on Seabrook Avenue. In addition to the unit already housed in the red telephone box on the Village Green, this means that in accordance with the guidance provided by the Community Heartbeat Trust, most villagers will be within a 2 minute reach of a unit.

Amendment to Centrebus (8) Timetables for Saturday

Dangerous Bend on A607 by Woodfold Lane

Further to a spate of accidents on this bend of the A607, with vehicles regularly ending up in the hedgerow on both side of the carriageway, the Parish Council contacted Leicestershire County Council (LCC) Highways to see what more could be done to try to prevent these accidents.
